A beautiful historic market town with a magnificent cathedral and popular markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Bath (14 miles)

The famous spa city is definitely worth a visit during your stay at Harptree Court. The Christmas Market attracts visitors from far and wide as do the Literary and Fashion Festival in spring.

Bristol (12 miles)

Lots of great nightlife, theatre and music, a beautiful bustling waterfront and festivals every weekend in the summer.

Clarkes Village Shopping Outlet

Lots of designer brands at discounted prices and plenty of food and drink outlets.


Famous for the music festival but it’s a lovely town to visit all year round with the beautiful abbey ruins and stunning views from the Tor.

Stanton Drew Stone Circles

The third largest standing stone complex in the country and virtually unknown so no hoards of tourists. You just put a pound in a box as a fee and you may well be the only ones there.

Cheddar Gorge

Explore Britain’s biggest gorge from the dramatic cliffs reaching 450ft to the stalactite filled caves.

National Trust

There are a large number of National Trust properties nearby –  the most popular are Tyntesfield (8 miles away) and Stourhead (30 miles away).
