Welcome to Harptree Court – the perfect escape from it all!

Our beautiful Georgian country house was built in 1797. Driving up the long front drive, you catch glimpses of the house through the trees and the scene is set for a relaxing stay. We try to ensure our guests feel completely at home and, judging by the number of people who visit us time and again, we must be doing something right.

We have 55 acres of peaceful woodland and fields full of wildlife for you to explore with scenic walks right from the door. Enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn on a sunny day and gaze at the stars at night.

Set in the Chew Valley, we are ideally situated for exploring the beautiful cities of Bath, Bristol, Wells and the stunning scenery of the Mendip Hills.

Charles and Linda - Harptree CourtWe are Linda and Charles and we’ve been running our luxury bed and breakfast for over 13 years, but the house has been in our family since 1920. We built the luxury treehouse in 2011 and it has been host to over 15 marriage proposals every year since then!

We offer homemade cake (lemon drizzle is Linda’s specialty) and tea on arrival and a choice of delicious locally sourced dishes for breakfast.

In 2012 and 2013, our house had a taste of fame as Series 3 and 4 of the Great British Bake Off were filmed here.

We look forward to sharing our special space with you.

  • I spent two nights B&B in the Rust Room, which was gorgeous, with a low ceiling making the room cosy, and double aspect windows bringing in plenty of light.

  • ...We stayed in the Lavender Room which is the best room we have stayed in during 4 separate visits to the UK.

  • To say that our recent two nights stay in this elegant Georgian house was absolutely wonderful with Linda and Charles as perfect hosts wouldn’t come close to the review it deserves.
